Montgomery County, Maryland – December 15, 2006
Montgomery County Executive, Isiah Leggett, announced the use of the
new Waste and Fraud Hotline within Maryland government operations to
support his goal of attaining Greater Government Accountability. The
Office of Inspector General (OIG) of Montgomery County will oversee the
hotline, which is operated by The Network, Inc.

employees and county residents that leaders care. The purpose of the
hotline is to deter fraud, waste and abuse while soliciting feedback
about “contract or procurement fraud, theft of County funds or
property, kickbacks, workers’ compensation fraud, fraudulent travel
or other reimbursement claims or significant waste of County funds.” Awareness
about the new hotline will be communicated via email, mail and with signage
