Berkshire Hathaway Launches Employee Hotline with The Network
Norcross, Georgia, October 2, 2003
Berkshire Hathaway has chosen The Network Inc., one of the nation's
leading providers of ethics hotlines, to provide an anonymous employee
hotline service to all of its subsidiary companies in response to the
Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. The Sarbanes-Oxley Act requires that public
companies provide employees with a communications mechanism enabling
them to remain anonymous when reporting financial irregularities.
"Our hotline business has grown dramatically in the last year because
companies like Berkshire Hathaway have recognized the value of outsourcing
their hotline to a provider with a track record for protecting the confidentiality
of anonymous callers." said Tony Malone, Chief Executive Officer
of The Network.
