The Network Wins Stevie® Award in 6th Annual American Business
AwardsSM
Norcross, GA – July 1, 2008
The Network, a technology-based company providing hotline, insurance
claim reporting and employee communication services to nearly half the
Fortune 500, announced today its recently earned Stevie Award for Interactive
Media Professional Education from The 2008 American Business
Awards. The Network won for the creation of a hosted Flash module focused
on ethics in the workplace.
Entitled “Ethics Idol,” the award-winning interactive educational
Flash module utilizes a pop-culture, reality show format to engage employees
in the decisions they may make around ethical behavior in the workplace.
Ethics Idol was developed by The Network’s creative agency for
the workplace, mPower Communications, for their client, Cisco Systems,
Inc. (Cisco). Ethics Idol was featured on Cisco Intranet and contained
a series of animated ethics scenarios that were evaluated by judges.
Employees also voted throughout this process to make their own judgment
calls on each ethical situation.
“Our organization specializes in building employee awareness as
part of a well-planned ethics and compliance education program. The national
recognition for creating an engaging and compelling medium for ethics
and compliance is a huge honor,” said Tony Malone, CEO of The Network. “With
Ethics Idol, the amazingly creative talents of our in-house graphic design
team helped raise awareness of ethics and compliance.”
“Although the Stevie Award is a tremendous honor, this recognition
is icing on the cake from a hugely successful ethics initiative
to our employees," said Jeremy Wilson, manager of the ethics office
at Cisco. "Ethics Idol helped raise awareness to Cisco's employees
that each ethical dilemma is not always cut and dry, and if they should
have any questions to refer to the Cisco Code of Business Conduct for
guidance."
The awards were presented during ceremonies at the Marriott Marquis
Hotel in New York City. The ceremonies were hosted by Cheryl Casone of
Fox Business Network and broadcast nationwide on radio by the Business
TalkRadio Network.
Stevie Awards were presented in more than 40 categories including Best
Overall Company, Best Executive and Best Corporate Social Responsibility
Program. More than 2,600 entries from companies of all sizes and in virtually
every industry were submitted for consideration.
Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors
and their staffs selected Stevie winners from among the Finalists. Finalists
were chosen by business professionals nationwide during preliminary judging
in April and May.
