USMA and The Network Join Forces to Combat Theft and Fraud in the Workplace

Norcross, Georgia, May 14, 2002

The Network and United States Mutual Association (USMA) have announced a new strategic alliance. Through this relationship, The Network will offer USMA members the opportunity to further enhance their workforce integrity efforts with the addition of employee hotlines and communication solutions.

With their commitment to creating more secure, crime-free work environments, USMA acts as the premier source for retailers to obtain the most comprehensive employee background screening available. The Network complements USMA's services by helping companies collect and respond to critical employee feedback and by educating employees on vital workplace issues. Combining these services will first help members build a better workforce, and then utilize employee feedback to monitor workplace activity and prevent future criminal behavior.

Utilizing The Network's around-the-clock call center and professional interviewers, employees have the ability to confidentially report concerns, such as sexual harassment, workplace violence, discrimination, theft and fraud, and crisis situations. Each call to The Network results in an actionable incident report, which members can quickly access for appropriate response. To maximize hotline results, The Network also develops education and awareness materials that increase employee understanding of company standards and engage them in reporting illegal activity.

Ed Stamper, President of The Network said, “Together, our organizations will work toward a common goal of helping USMA's members build and maintain the highest legal and ethical standards among their employees. We look forward to helping their members detect and deter workplace crime, enhance their investigative abilities and improve their workplace environments.”

“We are constantly seeking ways to bring our members new methods for hiring with intelligence and improving the quality of their workforces,” commented Bob Williams, President of USMA, “I am confident that the ability to gather crucial employee feedback will prove to be an invaluable new tool. With The Network as our strategic partner, our members can enjoy the benefits of a more comprehensive program that combines employee screening with critical ongoing workplace feedback.”
